The PTR team will run a revolutionary transmission system in the 28K Superstock at the bash on the 16th. (at Kihikihi Superstocks race in the same race as Standard Stocks but start half a lap behind.)The new drag racing inspired trans operates without a clutch or torque converter. The power output from the CSL built Ford SVO had previously resulted in stripped gears and tyres getting spun off the rims at take off.

At least 15 cars are expected to front - 6+ Kihikihi, 3 Palmy, plus 1-2 each from Stratty, Tauranga, Rotorua, Huntly and Auckland. I was hoping to get an entrylist up last week but will leave it till closer to the event so the guys can workout exactly who will have their engines back together etc. Superstock wise not expecting too many. Grant will be running off the back of the Stockcars, meant to be at least 1 other Superstock joining him. Of course any others are more than welcome. On another note things are sounding pretty good for the Kihikihi Crusaders and Kihikihi Stockcar scene next season but will leave that discussion for another day Roll on the 16th!!!!!

Is there such a thing as a long range forecast for the 16th for the Kihikihi region? Don't some weather predictors get it close at times? 4hrs towing each way for me . Be great to know if a huge high is looming for mid August.

Be great to know if a huge high is looming for mid August. Confident a great day will be had by all at this early stage. "Be great to know if a huge high is looming for mid August.." That is a feeling reserved for the competitors! Weather for the corresponding period (week) last year was mostly devoid of rain (few drops), with temperature peaking 12-16 degrees. Looks like a 7am start for Macca to be at Kihikihi for 11am.

This meeting has the potential to be an annual highlight. Macca in his new super saloon, possibly Neville Stewart in his new super saloon, although I suspect he's all bluff and bluster, not wanting to be embarressed or taken out by the saloons. To have the team from Palmy, hooncorp, perhaps even Percy, will be a real bonus ... Might have to re-name the day, I say Macgorians Unite, lets hijack the day and make it ... KIHIKIHI AUGUST 16 the MACGORIANS MEETING!I have a new commentator to break in so i will be there all going well WTF you are taking the pi55 about breaking in the new commentator

Your onto it Murray. 7am start ( leave home ) for me and crew with half of Mangawhai not too far behind . Destination 2k's.
But on the Wednesday before that I'll be doing some dyno time up in Whangarei. Should be interesting.

Forecast was looking very suspect, potentially, for the 16th. I think ol' Mintie must be spending a bit of time on his knees as what was looking like reasonable rain off and on is now more off than on ... [glow=red,2,300] Friday 14th through to Monday 17th is looking okay, albeit a bit nippy with a maximum high of 13. [/glow] The cooler temperature will stop Macca and those Palmy folk from drying out the track too quick. Don't get up Mintie, and you folk that said you'll be there, don't disappoint. BE THERE, and bring a few friends!

I'm ok ( was gunna say cool ) with 13 deg. Talk of a 12 o'clock kick off at this stage so I suspect the temp will be a little less at 6 am when we leave home . Keep the weather updates coming please Grandad especially if they are bright ones.

Only 9.5 more sleeps til the rain stops & the green flag drops. I know I've posted this pic before, but I like it, and I hope it's worth a 2nd look.
