My 1000 post on Macgors will be remembered .Pete Barry a livewire on and off the track Expect the unexpected ,whenever he raced Was also awsome the minutes silence at Welly before the feature stockcar race ,and the club having a whip around the crowd for a collection for Pete ,and everyone dug deep RIP

My wife and I have just flown in from Ozzy, we were hoping to come on here and find peter doing better, instead we are sitting here in stunned silence, finding this news a real shock. Pete's one of those guy's you could never just pass on the track, but the first to come and make sure you're ok after he dealt to you.
To Pete's wife and kids, our Prayers and thoughts are with you. RIP Pete, you will be missed.
Catherine and Ross Leonard. Stockcar 94b.

I remeber the time when you had just brought petrols old stockcar 71p and u turned up to wanganui with it and got put threw the fence came back in to the pits with the biggest grin on ur face Dan mate that was one of the first things I was remembering after hearing the news, i was like who's this crazy guy from the bay never seen him before ,he was turning right on the stockcars and the supers and then seeing him more and more stirring. When ever I went to a track and 71b came out he was pretty much the only car you needed to watch. Pete you were a real stockcar driver and will be missed lots out on the track and off it, and my son(6) will miss seeing this crazy guy who pulls out infront of stockcars right in front of him in palmy. And I'll quote from him "Dad did you see that did you see that, that guys crazy" To the Family Peter Barry was taken way to early and personally will be missed a hell of a lot and I will miss seeing him over in Wangas stirring it up in every race he was in, my thoughts go out to you and hope the future can get brighter and we see some Barrys out there mixing it up in the future as well. Kindest regards Darren and Darren(jnr)

Thanks Rusty
I am guttered I could not attend. But glad the day went well and the overwhelming support that went with the day. Certainly hailed as a hero between my crew, including a framed pic on our speedway wall at the home RIP

Condolences to Peter Barry's family. Although I have never met Peter I have heard some good and funny stories about him, Seeing the way he drives he seemed a great guy it brings a tear to our eye. He will be sadly missed.
Warm regards wgtn wildcats and volvo82
