Well, Some of you may know me, others wont. Im this guys brother ... : macgor.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Techtalk&action=display&thread=22024 So you can see where this is headed... Been around speedway longer than I can remember, done as many demolitions as years I've been alive along with crossed up racing, dabbled breifly in youth ministocks and crewing for multiple people. After buying my own house earlier this year, seemed like the time to finally get more serious.. Set to finding a suitable donor and after having a look at a few, a deal was done and I became the owner of this machine.. : Previously Owned by a Gerald Griffiths (??) , Nato I was led to believe. Runs Torsions all round, Hiace/Hilux single disc braked diff, Falcon Stubs on the front end with inboard cantilever shocks. Set-up for falcon 6. Ran a reverser bar for the steering. Quite keen to make a few changes, along the same lines that Tim has done, in the pursuit of reliability, and ease of replacement parts, and serviceability. Will upload more pictures as parts progress.. Already purchased fuel cell, Hq bellhousing & shifter. Attachments:

I intend on replacing the likes of the XF stubs with more readily available options. Also quite keen to remove the Hiace diff in favour of a independant nissan option Attachments:

Not much of a update, did a few hours grinding throughout the weekend, removing useless old mounts that'd been left there by perhaps a few previous owners. Fuel tank turned up... Calipers & stub axles are turning up this weekend...

Lol, who're you Iccelerate?
Mild update.
Calipers & Stubs turned up, knocked the top kingpin out. Cut down the kingpin mounts on the front axle to suit the hub. Started reeming out the lower ball joint hole on the stub axle - till the cheap nutsty Electric Dremel crapped out.
Any tips on what dremel bits I should use to reem out the stub axle? Or better off taking to a engineer to drill it? Basically need to straighten the angle of the lower ball joint hole so it matches the top, and enlarge the hole to take the Kingpin.
May have sourced a XR6 ute for its motor, have made a offer with a uncompliable ute that came into work, will see how we go..

Still waiting on hubs, however picked the ute up today, shall wreck it out I think, regain some $$ spent. Scored some brake rotors for the front hub setup, and some spacers to clear the calipers. Tomorrow's job wrecking it out

Motor's out, dont fancy having to do that again in a hurry!
Should I be keeping the loom for usage with the SNZ computer etc? Basically want to strip everything thats of any use to me in the slightest.
Thinking about little things like the steering column universals to be used for conversion to the 'Rees' style steering. Ie Box mounted up by the radiator, and run sprockets to quicken the steering (and at the same time offsetting the steering shaft to line up with the box)
Any thoughts?

all you need for the loom is the coil pack and the crank sensor plugs (cut them off and take them to the computer guy and he will fit them onto your loom) and then you get the loom made when you get your computer

Purchasing more parts,
Can anyone advise what size holley's most people run? 350 or choked down 500's etc?
And in regards to the water pump, powersteering, for people using a Snz computer, are you sticking with the multi-ribbed belt or changing to V belts off a earlier EA falcon - curious with the crank trigger needed for the timing.
If sticking with the AU multi ribbed setup, obviously removing the original tensioners etc I'd been told the AU water pump pulley can be swapped for a Steel pulley - whats the pulley from? Whats the more common powersteer pump used in this setup?

Thanks for the replies, Small update today. Hubs back from being linebored... Sat everything together.. Just need smaller diameter tube for the front beam and they will be properly mounted up.. Picked up this seat, fits me quite well, perhaps slightly tight across the shoulders, but that can easily be 'adjusted' Big thank you to Craig & Ian from rarespares, great guys to deal with, kindly made deal for the ute and helped with some parts I needed in the process, very knowledgible and easy to deal with! Swapped one of my newly aquired Hq 3 speeds for a shortened 3spd from the previous owner. This one is meant to have been rebuilt. Im missing the linkage levers from both 'boxes - does anyone have any - I have linkages to go from the gearlever to the gearbox linkages.

Keep up the good work, and hopefully you will go one better than the bro and get the beast to the track soon!
Only tip so far - leave the seat tight, the first impact into the wall, or first meeting will help "mould" it too your shape, and tight is nice. Looks like decent foam, so no doubt it will get better the more time your shape is in it.
